| I would like to make 4 nominations to the new Hilltop Board of Directors. All are previous board members who have given a good deal of their time and energy to our neighborhood.

1. Cathy Bekian, 3216 Grandview Blvd., 310-398-8067. We need some carry over from the previous board and who better than Cathy who has served as President for almost 25 years. She has an excellent conception of the overall good for the neighborhood and has worked well with the previous board and neighbors looking out for the interests of the Association as a whole. Cathy is an active and supportive member of CERT.

2. Wayne Burklund, 3276 Keeshen, 310-391-3115. Wayne has served diligently as treasurer and created records necessary for CERT to be helpful in an emergency as well as establishing the e-mail directory for notifying neighbors of any important current events that could effect their lives. He is an active, dependable, well respected member of CERT and the existing board.

3. Judy Deutsch, 3544 Centinela, #307, 310-390-3016. Judy is the newest member of the existing board and has a great deal of experience from working with other organizations. Judy is a professional fund raiser and works as Sr. Director of Development, City of Hope. She has a good knowledge of whom to contact for getting things done. Judy has been a very positive addition to the present board and after her very first meeting has been a person who was looked to for ideas on how to accomplish goals. She is CERT trained and will be available to assist in a disaster.

4. Mary Ann Sherritt, 3026 Dahlgren, 310-391-8655. Mary Ann is the leader of our CERT Team and very involved with the welfare of Hilltop Neighbors. She has worked to keep the CERT Leaders Group actively coordinated so our close neighbors will be of assistance to each other in a disaster. She has a good deal of experience both medically and as a member of other organizations. Mary Ann is an excellent problem solver and works effectively with everyone.

5. Shirley Munch, 3521 Inglewood Blvd., 310-398-8777. Shirley is an Attorney who has lived in the neighborhood for years. She is a good resource for legal questions and was very helpful in drawing up the By-Laws recently adopted by the existing board. She is well acquainted with many in Hilltop Neighborhood and is easily approached by those seeking advice. Shirley is a long time member of CERT and has been an active participant in disaster related preparedness.
